The Jakarta Provincial Department of Culture (Disbud) held a gathering and meeting of the Museum Association throughout Indonesia in 2023 at the Wahyu Sihombing Theater building, Taman Ismail Marzuki, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (11/10) night.

The gathering was held in the framework of the 8th Indonesian Museum Day, which falls every October 12, and provided opportunities for museum managers to develop themselves and share information and experiences.

The theme for Indonesia Museum Day 2023 is, "With the Spirit of Collaboration and Synergy, we encourage sustainable and prosperous museums in Indonesia through cultural values."

"All museum administrators and managers throughout Indonesia are present in Jakarta as well as providing a connection and exchanging ideas for museum management in the future," said Jakarta Cultural Department Head, Iwan Henri Wardana, Wednesday (10/11).

He revealed museum managers throughout Indonesia attended the gathering and meeting held at the Taman Ismail Marzuki building to convey several aspirations and discuss in an atmosphere of intimacy.

"This is because there are more challenges in the future, especially how to advance the development of technology and information that is balanced in museum management," he said.

For your information, the gathering and meeting of Museum Indonesia will be held from October 11 to 13. Various activities will be held, including museum management workshops (buildings, human resources, collections, public programs, and funding), joint exhibitions, national seminars, workshops, the National Conference of the Indonesian Museum Association, and city tours.

The ceremonial opening of the gathering will be held at the Wahyu Sihombing Theater, Taman Ismail Marzuki, by presenting dance and music typical of DKI Jakarta. Workshops and national seminars will also be held with speakers who are experts and stakeholders in the field of museums.

The series of activities is also more complete with the holding of a city tour of Jakarta landmarks using public transportation, namely mass rapid transit / MRT and Transjakarta double-decker buses.

The Chairperson of the Indonesian Museum Association (AMI) DKI Jakarta "Paramita Jaya," Yiyok T Herlambang, hopes this activity will increase synergy with museum managers throughout Indonesia.
