The Jakarta Cultural Department warmly welcomed the delegates of the 2023 ASEAN Summit at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. Tuesday, September 5, 2023.

The welcoming of the People's Republic of China delegation was animated with a dance performance by a studio assisted by the DKI Jakarta Cultural Department through the West Jakarta Cultural Sub-Department.

The dancers were released and given directions by the Secretary of the Cultural Department, Mr. Imam Hadi Purnomo, and the Head of the Cultural Department, Mr. Iwan Henry Wardhana.

The welcome dance performed was Cupang Menor. Inspired by the West Jakarta icon, the Cupang Serit fish. Cupang fish is unique because it is a lovely fighting fish. Of course, depicting these two features with beautiful, dynamic, slightly odd movements and spiked with elements of Betawi traditional silat.

The 2023 ASEAN Summit will become a forum for harmonious and meaningful cooperation. Let us together realize the vision and mission of a strong culture in ASEAN unity.
