Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta, Heru Budi Hartono, appreciated the Betawi Culinary Festival which was held at the Central Park Mall on 21-23 May 2023 and the 2023 Jakarta Great Sale Festival (FJGS) simultaneously in 94 shopping centers/malls in five regions city, from 21 May to 21 July 2023.

This activity is a form of cooperation between the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and various parties, such as the Indonesia Shopping Center Association (APPBI) and the Indonesian Shopping Center Tenants Association (Hippindo).

Acting (Pj) Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono said this activity was carried out to welcome the City of Jakarta's 496th Anniversary (HUT). In addition, it aims to improve and drive the wheels of the economy in DKI Jakarta. The festival involves around eleven MSME tenants assisted by DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. They serve Betawi specialties, from starters like dodol betawi, main dishes like asinan juhi and egg crust, to desserts like es podeng.

"Hopefully, with the implementation of the Betawi Culinary Festival and FJGS, Betawi culinary and culture will be increasingly loved by the people and can boost the economy of DKI Jakarta and Indonesia. We also hope that the public can share in the joy and enjoy this festival and various other events in the framework of the 496th Anniversary of the City of Jakarta.," said Acting Governor Heru in a Press Release of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government PPID, Monday (22/5).

Meanwhile, DKI Jakarta UMKM Service Head Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo added, according to Acting Governor Heru's directions to introduce Betawi culinary specialties by synergizing with various parties, including all mall and retail entrepreneurs, the opening of the Betawi Culinary Festival was held in conjunction with FJGS activities. He hopes Betawi culture and cuisine will be widely known, even globally.

"Mr. Governor's invitation is a form of his concern to promote Betawi culinary and culture to become more widely known in the community. Because it turns out that there are many Betawi foods and snacks that taste good and suit many people's tongues," Ratu explained.

Ratu also added that the Jakarta Pemprov UMKM Service has various programs carried out on an ongoing basis to advance Jakarta's UMKM. One is cooperating with our fostered MSMEs to participate in multiple events or bazaars, such as the Jakarta Culinary Festival, held at the mall.

FJGS was opened at Central Park Mall, West Jakarta, last Sunday (21/5). At the opening ceremony, attributes for the 496th anniversary of DKI Jakarta were also handed over to some parties, such as the Chairman of APPBI DKI Jakarta, Chairperson of Hippindo, President Director of Central Park Mall CPM Assets Indonesia, President Director of Secure Parking, Representative from the Outdoor Advertising Association of Indonesia, as well as Deputy Chairman of the DKI Jakarta Outdoor Media Association as a symbol of synergy with the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta.

At the opening of the FJGS yesterday, there were also food reviews at the Betawi Culinary Festival by some food vloggers so that the excitement of this event could be widely conveyed to the public. This series of agendas is expected to benefit the community and MSMEs in DKI Jakarta in commemorating the 496th Anniversary of Jakarta.
