Before changing the name to PPSB Muhammad Mashabi, it was called PPSB Central Jakarta. Then, on 27 June 2022, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan changed the names of 32 streets and buildings in Jakarta. Including Central Jakarta PPSB, which turned into PPSB Muhammad Mashabi.

PPSB Muhammad Mashabi is an infrastructure facility for the Central Jakarta Administration City Culture Sub-dept. To hold various arts and cultural activities such as dance training, batik, Islamic music, crafts, cultural arts competitions for students to the general public, etc. In addition, it is also a place of creation for artists. Art activists can use this building for artistic activities, such as workshops, webinars, competitions, and training in music, theatre, Pencak silat, etc.
