Jakarta Provincial Government Establishes Jakarta Arts Council Management for the 2023-2026 Period

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has determined the Management of the Jakarta Arts Council (DKJ) for 2023-2026. The stipulation was signed by Jakarta Acting Governor Heru Budi Hartono on Thursday, July 27, 2023, through Governor Decree Number 498 of 2023 concerning the Composition of Members of the Jakarta Arts Council for the 2023-2026 service period.

Jakarta Culture Agency Head Iwan Henry Wardhana said the process of determining DKJ members had undergone a series of rigorous selection processes and stages, including implementing the Jakarta Arts Council (MKJ) and selecting prospective members by the Jakarta Academy.

"All proposals for the names of DKJ candidates from the Jakarta Academy must be appreciated and welcomed positively by cultural arts activists. On this occasion, I would like to thank the DKJ members for the 2020-2023 period for their dedication and contribution to developing arts and culture in DKI Jakarta. All the dynamics that occurred during the past management period must be respected and understood wisely as a record of learning for us to move forward together for the progress of Jakarta. I am optimistic that the DKJ management for the 2023-2026 period will establish good, effective, and harmonious communication," he said in Jakarta Friday (07/28).

Furthermore, Iwan said after the determination of the management members, DKJ is expected to embrace all elements of artists in Jakarta and continue to create programs and works of art that can raise the image of Jakarta as a cultural city on a global scale. On the other hand, artists in Jakarta can easily access and establish communication with DKJ through direct coordination processes and other information technology channels. In addition, DKJ is expected to continue the promotion and education of the beauty and richness of cultural arts in Indonesia, especially Betawi cultural arts.
