Sunda Kelapa is a port that has been used since the 12th century. It is the pioneer of the establishment of Jakarta as a metropolitan city. Kalapa or Indonesian for coconut was picked as the name of the port. Until today, Sunda Kelapa is still used for traditional boats as a port.
